Description
Flexible closed-cell foam matting that data and power cables are laid on, in raised-floor voids, under suspended ceilings and along cable baskets. It stops cables snagging or chafing on rough screed, uneven floors and sharp basket edges, and its closed-cell structure keeps moisture rising from concrete away from the cables. It is fire rated Class 0, passing BS 476 Part 6 and Part 7 (Class 1), light enough to handle in long coils and easy to cut on site.
Why choose this matting
Class 0 fire rated
Passes BS 476 Part 6 (fire propagation) and Part 7 Class 1 (surface spread of flame), with smoke and toxicity tested to ISO 5659.
Keeps moisture out
Closed cells take up about 1% water by volume over 28 days and have a vapour diffusion factor above 7,000, so damp from screed stays away from cables.
Protects cables
A soft, even bed under cable runs, so jackets do not rub on rough concrete, raised-floor pedestals or basket wires.
Clean for critical spaces
CFC, HCFC and asbestos free, very low VOC emissions and antimicrobial, suited to data centres and comms rooms.

Fitting & storage
- Sweep the sub-floor or basket clean and remove any sharp debris.
- Unroll the coil along the cable route, flat side down, before the cables go in.
- Cut to length and around pedestals with a sharp knife or scissors.
- Store coils dry and clean at 10–35°C until fitting.
FAQs
Floor or basket matting?
Use 13mm floor matting on screeded or concrete floors, in raised-floor voids and above suspended ceilings. Use 6mm basket matting to line cable baskets and trays, choosing a width that matches the basket.
What does Class 0 mean?
Class 0 is the UK Building Regulations fire classification for materials that pass BS 476 Part 6 and achieve Class 1 under BS 476 Part 7, meaning low fire propagation and no surface spread of flame.
How is the price worked out?
The price is per coil: 14m for floor matting and 30m for basket matting. Order as many coils as your cable route needs.
Can I get other widths or thicknesses?
Yes. Other widths and thicknesses can be made to order. Call us with your sizes and quantities.
How quickly will it arrive?
Some widths are cut to order, so we will confirm a dispatch date when you order. Bulk and repeat orders are welcome.
