Description

Entrance & Barrier MattingSKU Rmco-SLM-6090-GY

The Slimline Entrance Mat is the mat for doorways where a thick, heavy mat simply will not fit. At just 7 mm from floor to pile tip, it slides under doors with the tightest clearance, lies dead flat without curling and still does the job of a proper barrier mat: a dense polypropylene cut pile that scrapes grit from soles and holds dust and moisture at the door, so hard floors beyond the entrance stay cleaner, drier and safer.

It is finished with a neat black border on all four edges and a smooth slip-resistant PVC backing that grips marble, porcelain, vinyl, laminate and timber without marking them. Choose from four colours and four standard sizes, or order a custom length in 90 cm or 120 cm width to run the full depth of a lobby, corridor or reception. Standard sizes are kept in stock for fast UK dispatch.

Why choose this mat

Fits under almost any door
At 7 mm overall it clears door gaps that stop most 10 to 15 mm entrance mats. No trimming the door, no mat catching every time it opens.
Scrapes and absorbs in one pass
The tight cut pile flexes against the sole to lift grit and dust, then holds up to 0.6 litres of water per square metre until it dries.
Stays put on polished floors
Smooth PVC backing grips marble, porcelain and vinyl so the mat does not creep in a busy doorway. No glue, no tape, no fixings.
Low trip risk, wheel friendly
The flat black border sits almost flush with the floor, so wheelchairs, pushchairs, luggage and trolleys roll straight over it.
Made to measure
Custom lengths from 50 cm up to 25 m in 90 cm or 120 cm width, bordered on all edges so a long run looks as finished as a standard mat.
Clean in minutes
Vacuum it with the rest of the floor. For a deep clean, hose with cold water and hang to dry. Rated 4 out of 5 for stain resistance.

Which size do I need?

Cover at least two full footsteps
  1. 60 x 90 cm: a single door to a home, flat, small office or consulting room.
  2. 90 x 120 cm: a single commercial door, shop or café entrance.
  3. 90 x 150 cm: a reception or hallway where you want three steps on the mat.
  4. 120 x 180 cm: double doors, a hotel or office lobby, or a wide retail entrance.
  5. Custom length: corridors, long lobbies and runs between two sets of doors. Measure the clear floor and allow 5 mm each side for a recessed mat well.

Cleaning and care

Keep it working at its best
  1. Vacuum two or three times a week in busy entrances to lift dry grit before it is walked in.
  2. For stains, blot with cold water. For a deep clean, rinse with a hose and hang to dry fully.
  3. Do not use bleach, solvent or strong detergent, which can shorten the life of the fibres.
  4. Lay flat on a dry floor. Wipe the floor under the mat occasionally so the backing keeps its grip.

Frequently asked questions

Where is this mat best used?
Offices, receptions, hotels, boutiques, clinics, restaurants, schools and homes with light to moderate footfall. For very heavy traffic or an exposed doorway, pair it with one of our heavy-duty or rubber scraper mats outside.
Will it fit under my door?
Almost certainly. At 7 mm it is one of the lowest-profile bordered entrance mats you can buy. Check the gap between your door and the floor is at least 8 mm.
Will it slide on marble or tiles?
The PVC backing is designed to grip smooth hard floors and stays in place under normal use. On a very glossy floor that is washed daily, let the floor dry before laying the mat back down.
Can I have it cut to a custom length?
Yes. Choose 90 cm or 120 cm width and any length from 50 cm to 25 m. The size you give us is the finished size including the border. Contact us with your measurements for a quote.
Can wheelchairs and trolleys go over it?
Yes. The low profile and flat border make it easy for wheels to cross without snagging.
What does the grey look like in real life?
A mottled charcoal with lighter flecks rather than a solid jet black, which hides everyday marks well between cleans.
Can it be used outdoors?
It is an indoor mat for just inside the door. For a covered porch or outside step, use a rubber scraper mat and keep this one inside.

Note: Custom-cut lengths are made to order and cannot be returned unless faulty, so please double-check your measurements before ordering. Standard sizes can be returned in unused condition. For advice on your entrance, contact our team.
