Description
A flexible insulating rubber blanket to IEC 61112:2009 Class 0, used to cover live or earthed conductors, busbars and terminals while work goes on nearby. It is rated for a maximum working voltage of 1,000V and withstand tested at 10kV with no breakdown. The high-vis yellow colour makes covered parts obvious at a glance, and at 1mm thick it drapes and folds closely around awkward shapes.
Why choose this blanket
Rated to 1,000V
Class 0 to IEC 61112, the standard for electrical insulating blankets, for low-voltage switchboards, distribution boards and control panels.
Easy to see
High-vis yellow stands out against panels and cabling, so nobody misses a covered section, and red class marking runs along its length.
Drapes closely
Thin, soft rubber with high stretch folds around busbars, terminals and cable ends without springing back.
Tough and stable
Resists tearing, ozone and dilute acids and alkalis, and stays flexible from −40°C to +70°C.
Ideal for
- Covering exposed busbars
- Shrouding terminals during work
- Distribution boards
- Switchboards and control panels
- Cable joints and terminations
- Maintenance and testing

Using the blanket
- Inspect the blanket before every use for cuts, holes, embedded objects or damage, and do not use a damaged blanket.
- Wear insulating gloves rated for the voltage when placing or removing the blanket.
- Cover the full exposed area with a good overlap, and hold the blanket in place with insulating clips or pins if needed.
- After use, wipe clean, let it dry and store it rolled or flat away from sunlight, heat and sharp objects.
FAQs
What is the difference between a blanket and floor matting?
Floor matting insulates the person from the floor. A shrouding blanket covers live or earthed parts nearby so they cannot be touched by accident. Many sites use both: Class 0 floor matting in front of the panel and a blanket over exposed parts.
Can I use it above 1,000V?
No. Class 0 is for equipment up to 1,000V working. Call us if you need a higher-class blanket.
Can I get a test certificate?
Call us before you order if you need a test certificate for your records and we will arrange it with your order.
How is the price worked out?
The price is per linear metre of the 1m wide blanket. Set the quantity to the number of metres you need, up to a full 10m roll.
