Description
Anti-Slip Safety MattingSKU Rmco-SVF-SKY
This is the safety floor contractors reach for when a job needs to pass a slip-risk assessment, go down quickly and still look right ten years later. A 2mm, R10-rated sheet vinyl with slip-resistant aggregate through the full thickness, so grip does not wear off as the floor ages. Sold by the linear metre from a 2m wide roll: pick a colour, enter the length you need in metres and we cut it to order.
R10 / PTV 36+sustained slip resistance
2m widepriced per linear metre
10 yearsmanufacturer's guarantee
How ordering works: each unit is 1 linear metre of 2m wide roll, so 1 unit = 2m² at £43.90 per m². Need a 2m x 5m kitchen? Order quantity 5. Need 20m or more? Order quantity 20 and you receive a full, uncut roll.
Why choose this safety vinyl
Slip resistance that lasts the life of the floor
Aggregate particles run right through the 2mm wear layer rather than sitting in a surface coating, so the floor keeps its R10 rating and PTV of 36 or more under wet-test conditions year after year.
Built for 24/7 heavy traffic
Rated to use class 34 and 43, the highest classes for commercial and industrial floors, with castor chair resistance to ISO 4918 and less than 10% wear after 50,000 abrasion cycles.
Easy-clean PUR finish
A polyurethane surface treatment seals the vinyl so dirt and spills lift off with routine mopping, and the floor stands up well to common chemicals and staining.
Heat-weldable, can be coved up the wall
Joins weld with matching 4mm weld rod and edges can be turned up the wall over a cove former for a sealed, hygienic finish in kitchens, wet rooms and clinical areas.
Fire rated Bfl-s1
Classified Bfl-s1 to EN 13501-1, the standard most public buildings, schools and care facilities require for floor coverings.
30 colours for any scheme
From clinical whites and greys to blues, greens, reds and warm neutrals, so the floor can match a corporate palette or mark out zones. Several shades are accredited for dementia-friendly design.

Working out how much you need
| Room size | Order quantity | You receive |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 2m x 3m | 3 | One piece 2m x 3m (6m²) |
| Up to 2m x 5m | 5 | One piece 2m x 5m (10m²) |
| Up to 4m x 5m | 10 | One piece 2m x 10m, cut into two 5m drops and welded on site |
| 40m² or more | 20 | One full uncut roll, 2m x 20m (40m²) |
Rule of thumb: measure the longest run of the room, add 10cm for trimming, and round up to the next whole metre. For rooms wider than 2m, plan the drops so joins fall away from doorways and sinks. Unsure? Send us a sketch with measurements and we will work out the cut list for you.

Installation overview
A stick-down floor for a competent fitter
- Subfloor must be smooth, sound, dry and level. Use a suitable smoothing compound and, on new concrete or where moisture is a risk, a damp-proof membrane.
- Store and acclimatise the vinyl flat in the room at 18°C or above for at least 24 hours before fitting.
- Cut drops to length with a 10cm allowance and lay out, then trim to the walls or to the cove former if turning up the wall.
- Fold back, spread an approved safety-flooring adhesive with the recommended trowel, lay in and roll with a 68kg roller to remove air.
- Groove the joins and heat weld with matching weld rod, then trim flush once cool.
- Keep traffic off for 24 hours and do not wet clean for 48 hours. We can supply the full installation guide on request.
Frequently asked questions
How is this priced?
Per linear metre of 2m wide roll. One unit is a 2m x 1m strip, which is 2m². That works out at £43.90 per m² including VAT. Enter the length you need as the quantity.
What is the minimum I can order?
1 linear metre (a 2m x 1m piece). Cut lengths are made to order and cannot be returned, so please check your measurements before ordering.
Is it suitable for a commercial kitchen?
Yes. R10 slip resistance with PTV 36+ when wet is what environmental health officers look for in kitchens, and the floor can be coved up the wall and welded for a sealed, washable finish.
Can I lay it myself?
It is a fully adhered, heat-welded floor, so it is normally fitted by a flooring contractor. Confident DIYers can lay a single-drop room without welding, but joins should be welded for wet areas.
Do you supply weld rod, adhesive and cove formers?
Contact us with your colour and quantity and we will quote for matching weld rod, approved adhesive, capping strip and cove former alongside the vinyl.
Will the colour match a previous order?
Colours are consistent across production, but as with any sheet vinyl, batches can vary very slightly. If you are extending an existing floor, tell us and we will check batch numbers where possible.
Can I use it with underfloor heating?
Yes, provided the heating is switched off during installation and brought back up gradually afterwards, in line with the manufacturer's guidance.
How do I clean it?
Sweep or vacuum daily and mop with a neutral cleaner. For heavier soiling use a rotary scrubber with a suitable pad. Avoid rubber-backed mats and rubber castors sitting on the floor long term, as rubber can stain vinyl.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, a 10-year manufacturer's guarantee applies when the floor is installed and maintained in line with the fitting and cleaning guidance.
Do you have rubber matting for workshops and gyms?
Yes. This vinyl is for permanently fitted, heat-welded floors. For loose-lay protection in workshops, garages and gyms, see our plain rubber matting rolls.
