The scraper mat that lives outside the door and takes the punishment so your indoor mats do not have to. Hundreds of moulded rubber scraper buttons strip mud, grit and swarf from shoes and boots, and because the whole mat is 100% nitrile rubber it shrugs off rain, oil, grease and chemicals year after year. At just 5 mm thick it clears any door, wheelchairs and trolleys roll straight over it, and it is certified high-traction so nobody slips stepping on or off it in the wet.

Why this mat outperforms a standard rubber doormat
Scrapes heavy dirt off before it reaches the door
The grid of moulded rubber buttons flexes under foot and pulls mud, grit and metal swarf out of shoe treads. It is a Zone 1 mat, the first line of defence outside the entrance, where most of the heavy debris should come off.
Only 5 mm thick, so doors clear it and wheels roll over it
An ultra-low profile that fits outside doors with no clearance for a thick mat. Rated suitable for wheelchair users and for trolleys and wheeled trucks, with no raised lip to catch a toe.
Nitrile rubber laughs off oil, grease and chemicals
Ordinary rubber mats soften and crack where oil and solvents are about. This one is 100% nitrile, resistant to oils, grease and chemicals, and safe in welding areas, so it suits workshop and kitchen doors as well as shop fronts.
Certified high-traction
Certified high-traction by the National Floor Safety Institute and rated level 3 for slip resistance, wet or dry. Level 3 for wear too, which is the manufacturer's heavy footfall grade.
Gripper backing that holds on wet or oily floors
The underside has a gripper finish that keeps the mat firm underfoot on wet, slippery or oily surfaces, so it does not creep across the threshold through the day.
Hose it, shake it, done
No vacuuming and no laundering. Shake out the grit or hose it down and it is ready to go back. Light enough to lift for cleaning, and REACH compliant, cutting the need for cleaning chemicals.

Rule of thumb: around 40% of the dirt on a shoe should come off in the first 1.5 metres of matting outside the door. Aim for two strides, about 150 cm, of scraper mat outside, then pair it with an absorbent mat inside to finish the job.

Cleaning and care
Two minutes with a hose keeps it working like new
- Shake the mat out daily in busy entrances to clear loose grit from between the buttons.
- Hose it down weekly, or whenever the buttons start to clog with mud.
- For oil or grease, add a little mild detergent to the wash and rinse off. The nitrile rubber is chemical resistant.
- Stand it on edge to drain and dry.
- Lay it back flat and check the border sits flush to the ground on all sides.
Frequently asked questions
Can it stay outside all year round?
Yes. It is 100% nitrile rubber and rated for outdoor use in wet areas, so rain, frost and sun are what it is built for.
Will my door clear it?
Almost certainly. At 5 mm overall it is one of the lowest-profile scraper mats available and sits under doors that would catch a textile mat.
Is it slippery when wet?
No. It is certified high-traction by the National Floor Safety Institute and rated level 3 for slip resistance, and the gripper backing stops the mat itself moving on wet paving.
Does it absorb water?
It is a scraper, so its job is grit and heavy debris, with a level 2 rating for water absorbency. For a dry floor inside, pair it with one of our absorbent indoor entrance mats.
Can I use it outside a workshop or commercial kitchen?
Yes. It is resistant to oils, grease and chemicals, rated for oily and greasy areas and safe in welding areas, which is exactly where ordinary rubber mats fail.
Can wheelchairs, pushchairs and trolleys cross it?
Yes. The 5 mm profile is rated suitable for wheelchair users and for trolleys and wheeled trucks.
How heavy is it to lift for cleaning?
From 2.7 kg for the 60 x 90 cm up to 24 kg for the 113 x 300 cm runner. All but the largest two sizes are an easy one-person lift.
Does it come in other colours?
Black only. For a coloured mat, use this outside and choose the colour you want for the absorbent mat inside the door.
Which size do I need for a pair of double doors?
The 113 x 180 cm covers a standard pair of double doors with room either side. Go to 113 x 300 cm if the doors open onto a long covered approach or take heavy public footfall.
What should I put inside the door to go with it?
This mat does the scraping outside. Inside, our Machine Washable Entrance Mat soaks up what is left and goes in the washing machine at 40°C, and comes in five colours and runner lengths to match. For the very wettest doorways choose the Super Absorbent Waffle Entrance Mat, which holds up to 6 litres of water per square metre.
