The first line of defence for any busy entrance. A dense 10 mm pile of coarse nylon monofilament works like a stiff brush on every shoe, scraping off grit, mud and leaf litter outside the door so it never reaches your floors. Bonded to a heavy, compression-moulded nitrile rubber base with a reinforced border on all four sides, it stays flat, stays put and stands up to rain, sun, oil and bleach all year round.

Made for shopfronts, hotels, offices, schools, clinics and leisure centres, inside or out. Choose from Black, Dark Grey, Light Grey, Red or Blue in seven sizes from a 60 x 85 cm single door mat to a 150 x 250 cm mat for wide double doors.
Why it outperforms a standard outdoor mat
Scrapes like a brush, not a rug
Thick monofilament nylon fibres stay springy under foot and drag dirt off soles. Carpet-style mats only wipe; this one actively cleans before people reach the door.
Colour that will not fade
The fibres are solution dyed, so the colour runs right through each strand. Rated 100% UV resistant, it keeps its looks after years in direct sun.
Shrugs off oil, grease and bleach
A 100% nitrile rubber base gives maximum oil resistance, and the fibres resist bleach and chemicals. Ideal near forecourts, workshops and kitchen back doors.
Reinforced rubber border
Compression moulded with a reinforced 1.5 cm border on all four sides, so edges stay flat, do not curl in the cold and do not fray at the corners.
Heavy enough to stay put
At 5.2 kg per square metre with a gripping underside, it does not creep across the paving or lift in the wind like lightweight polypropylene mats.
Washable and made with recycled rubber
Hose it down, vacuum it or have it commercially laundered. The phthalate-free rubber contains 34% post-industrial recycled content.

Rule of thumb: an outdoor mat should be at least as wide as the door opening and long enough for two strides, about 150 cm, so each foot lands on it twice. Sizes are within ±2%. Made-to-measure sizes up to 180 x 1000 cm are available, call us for a price.

Cleaning and care
Keep it scraping like new
- Vacuum regularly: daily at busy entrances, weekly where traffic is lighter.
- Lift and shake out, or hose off, to clear heavy soil and grit from the pile.
- For a deep clean, use a carpet extractor or have it commercially laundered at no more than 49°C, washed on its own.
- Hang the mat to dry and make sure it is completely dry before laying it back down.
- Lay it flat after washing and let it cool before rolling it for storage.
Frequently asked questions
Can it stay outside all year?
Yes. It is designed for indoor and outdoor use. The solution-dyed fibres are 100% UV resistant and the nitrile rubber base copes with rain, frost and sun.
Will the colour fade in the sun?
No. The colour is locked into each fibre during manufacture rather than printed on the surface, so it will not wash out or fade.
Will water pool on it in an exposed spot?
For fully exposed positions the rubber base can be supplied with drainage holes. Call us before you order and we will arrange it.
Is it suitable near oil or grease?
Yes. The 100% nitrile rubber backing is chosen for maximum oil resistance, so it suits garage forecourts, workshops and kitchen back doors.
Is it heavy enough not to blow away?
It weighs 5.2 kg per square metre, so an 85 x 150 cm mat is around 6.6 kg. It lies flat and stays put in normal weather.
How do I clean it?
Vacuum it regularly and hose it off when it is heavily soiled. It can also be commercially laundered at up to 49°C. Always let it dry fully before relaying.
Can I get a size that is not listed?
Yes. Made-to-measure mats are available up to 180 cm wide and 10 m long. Call us with your measurements for a quote.
Can I have my logo on it?
Yes. The same brush construction can be made as a logo mat in up to three colours. See our Custom Logo Mats or call us with your artwork.
How does it compare with your Super Absorbent Waffle Entrance Mat?
They do different jobs and work best together. This brush mat goes outside the door to scrape off grit and mud. The Super Absorbent Waffle mat goes just inside to soak up the water that is left, holding around 6 litres per square metre. Together they stop most dirt and moisture within the first few steps.
