Installation Guide
- Ensure the subfloor is clean, level, and dry before laying — remove any debris, dust, or loose material
- Allow the tiles to acclimatise to room temperature for 24–48 hours before installation, particularly in cold or recently heated spaces
- Begin laying from the centre of the room or from one corner, working outward in a consistent direction
- Click each tile into the interlocking edges of adjacent tiles — no adhesive, screws, or specialist tools required
- For edge finishing, attach matching bevelled edge ramps to the perimeter tiles for a clean, professional, trip-hazard-free border
- If trimming is required to fit around walls or fixtures, use a sharp utility knife or jigsaw to cut tiles to the required size
- Leave a small expansion gap (3–5mm) around fixed walls and structures to allow for natural thermal movement
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the mats flatten or compress under heavy gym equipment?
These high-density rubber tiles are specifically engineered to maintain their structural integrity and thickness under static loads from heavy gym equipment such as squat racks, power cages, and plate storage units. Some temporary compression marks may appear under sustained extreme loads, but these will recover over time once the load is redistributed.
How long does the rubber smell last?
A mild rubber odour is completely normal for new rubber gym mats and is not harmful. In a well-ventilated space, the scent typically fades within 2–4 weeks. You can accelerate the process by wiping the tiles down with a mild detergent solution and water, and ensuring the area is well aired during the initial break-in period.
Can these mats be used with underfloor heating?

The rubber may slightly reduce heat transfer efficiency, so we recommend setting the thermostat slightly higher than usual to compensate.
