Description
Heavy rubber stable mats that give horses a warm, cushioned, non-slip floor and cut down the bedding you use. Each mat is 6ft x 4ft (1.8m x 1.2m), moulded from a dense natural rubber and SBR blend, with a choice of two anti-slip top patterns and broad grooves on the underside so urine and wash-down water can drain away. Choose 12mm for stables and horseboxes on a sound, level base, or 18mm for extra cushioning and insulation.
Why choose these mats
Warm and cushioned
Rubber insulates hooves and legs from cold concrete and gives a softer stand, so horses can rest comfortably on far less bedding.
Two top patterns
Amoebic has a low, textured surface that is easy to sweep and muck out. Hammered has a raised dimpled surface for extra grip.
Drains underneath
Broad grooves on the underside let liquid run away under the mat instead of pooling on top, helping keep the stable dry.
Heavy enough to stay put
At 24kg (12mm) or 36kg (18mm) each, the mats lie flat and stay in place without fixing.
Ideal for
- Stables and loose boxes
- Horseboxes and trailers
- Field shelters
- Wash and grooming bays
- Kennels and animal pens
- Home and garage gyms
- Weights areas and workshops

Based on 6ft x 4ft mats (24 sq ft each). Measure your stable wall to wall and allow for trimming the last row to fit; a narrow gap at the walls can be filled with bedding or an offcut. If you are unsure, send us your measurements and we will work it out for you.

Fitting & care
- Lay the mats on a firm, level, well-drained base such as concrete. Fill any dips first so the mats sit flat.
- Butt the mats tightly together with no gaps, so bedding and dirt cannot work underneath.
- To trim, score along a straight edge with a sharp knife, bend the mat and keep cutting along the opening.
- The mats are heavy: use two people to move and lay them. Lift and wash underneath from time to time.
FAQs
12mm or 18mm?
12mm suits stables and horseboxes on a sound, level base and keeps weight down. 18mm gives more cushioning and insulation, and is the better choice for horses on box rest, older horses and weights areas.
Amoebic or Hammered?
Amoebic has a low textured top that is easy to sweep and muck out. Hammered has a raised dimpled top with more grip, popular in horseboxes and wash areas. Both have the same drainage grooves underneath.
Can I use them as gym flooring?
Yes. They make a tough, heavy floor for home gyms and weights areas, and protect the concrete from dropped weights.
How are they delivered?
The mats are heavy, so they travel on a pallet to a kerbside, ground-level address. We will contact you to confirm a delivery day.
