Description
Entrance & Barrier MattingSKU Rmco-LPE-6090-CH
The slim, hardwearing entrance mat that fits where thicker mats will not. At just 7 mm overall it slides under tight-clearance doors without catching, lies flat for wheelchairs and pushchairs, and still lifts dirt and moisture from every pair of shoes thanks to a dense 100% polypropylene pile on an anti-slip vinyl back.
7 mmfits under most doors
4 / 5wear and soil resistance
5 sizesup to 120 x 240 cm
An all-purpose mat for offices, classrooms, shops, receptions, corridors and busy homes, in four flecked colourways that hide everyday soiling between cleans. The largest 120 x 240 cm size covers a full double-door lobby in a single piece.
Why choose a low-profile mat
Clears doors that catch on thicker mats
Fire doors, UPVC doors and internal doors often have less than 10 mm of clearance. At 7 mm this mat sits under the swing without rucking or being dragged.
No trip edge, easy access
A thin bevelled vinyl edge means wheelchairs, prams, trolleys and walking frames roll over it with no step. Suitable for accessible entrances.
Hardwearing polypropylene pile
Rated 4 out of 5 for wear and soil resistance. The pile scrapes grit from soles and absorbs around 1.1 litres of water per m², enough for everyday drizzle and damp shoes.
Anti-slip vinyl backing
Smooth, stain-resistant backing grips hard floors so the mat does not creep towards the door, and will not mark tiles, vinyl, laminate or wood.
Dirt-hiding flecked colours
Charcoal, Blue, Brown and Red are mottled rather than flat, so footprints and dust are far less visible than on a plain mat.
Light enough to lift and shake
The 60 x 90 cm mat weighs under 2 kg. Staff can shake it out or hang it to dry without help, which means it actually gets cleaned.
Where it works best
- Office doors and corridors
- Classrooms and school cloakrooms
- Shop entrances with tight door clearance
- Reception desks and lift lobbies
- Surgeries, dental practices and care homes
- Hotel rooms and guest house entrances
- Fire doors and internal double doors
- Kitchens, utility rooms and back doors at home
Choosing the right size
| Size | Weight | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 60 x 90 cm | 1.9 kg | Single internal doors, office doorways, home back doors |
| 90 x 120 cm | 3.8 kg | Wider single doors, classroom entrances, porches |
| 90 x 150 cm | 4.8 kg | Shop fronts and reception doors. Our most popular size. |
| 120 x 180 cm | 6.7 kg | Double doors and small lobbies |
| 120 x 240 cm | 10.2 kg | Wide lobbies, long corridors and double-door entrances in one piece |
Rule of thumb: the more steps a visitor takes on the mat, the more dirt it removes. Aim for at least two strides, about 150 cm, at a commercial entrance.

Cleaning and care
Keep it working at its best
- Vacuum regularly to lift dry dirt from the pile.
- Shake out or beat outdoors to remove grit the vacuum misses.
- Rinse with cold water or hose down for a deeper clean.
- Hang to dry fully before laying it back down.
- Avoid harsh detergents and hot water.
Frequently asked questions
Will it fit under my door?
At 7 mm overall it clears the vast majority of internal and external doors. If you are unsure, measure the gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. Anything over 8 mm is fine.
Is it suitable for schools and offices?
Yes. It is a popular choice for classrooms, corridors, receptions and shop floors where a tidy, low-cost, hardwearing mat is needed.
Will it slip on hard floors?
The vinyl backing is anti-slip and holds well on tiles, vinyl and wood. For very smooth floors that get wet, our rubber-backed Super Absorbent Waffle mat grips harder.
Can wheelchairs go over it?
Yes. The 7 mm profile and thin bevelled edge present no step, so wheelchairs, walking frames and pushchairs cross it easily.
Can it be used outside?
It is designed for indoor use just inside the door. Pair it with a rubber scraper mat outside for exposed entrances.
Will it mark my floor?
No. The vinyl backing is non-marking and safe on tiles, wood, laminate and vinyl.
Can I cut it to size?
Yes. The vinyl backing can be trimmed with a sharp knife and straight edge if you need to fit around a door frame or into a mat well.
How does it compare with your Super Absorbent Waffle mat?
This mat is thinner, lighter and lower cost, and the right choice where door clearance is tight or traffic is moderate. For very wet, very busy entrances the Super Absorbent Waffle mat holds around five times more water and has a tougher rubber border.
