The entrance mat you clean in a washing machine, not just vacuum around. Heavy-duty twisted fibres pull rainwater and grit off every shoe that crosses it, a 100% nitrile rubber gripper backing holds it still on carpet and hard floors, and when it finally looks grubby you lift it, wash it at 40°C and lay it straight back down. Fire rated Cfl-s1 and independently slip tested, so it is ready for schools, offices and public buildings as well as shops.

Built for medium to high footfall. Six stock sizes run from a single-door 60 x 85 cm up to a 3 metre runner, in five flecked colours that hide the day's dirt between cleans.
Why this mat outperforms a standard doormat
Washable at 40°C, so it always looks new
Most entrance mats can only be vacuumed, so they look tired within a year. This one goes in the machine at 40°C and comes out clean. Keep two in rotation and your entrance is never without a mat on wash day.
Twisted fibres that drink up rainwater
Heavy-duty twisted polyamide fibres absorb water and strip grit from footwear in one pass, then release it all in the wash. Rated level 2 for water absorbency, soil resistance and crush resistance.
Gripper backing that stays put on carpet
The anti-slip gripper underside is 100% nitrile rubber, so the mat does not creep across carpet tiles or polished floors through the day. A double reinforced border keeps the edges flat for a trip-free finish.
Fire rated and slip tested for public buildings
Flammability tested to Cfl-s1 (EN ISO 13501) and slip tested to 0.57 (EN 13893). The certificates your facilities manager, school bursar or council buyer will ask for are already in place.
Antistatic, so no shocks at the door
Electrical resistance of approx. 10¹¹ ohms (ISO 10965) and personal charging under 2 kV (ISO 6356). Safe beside reception computers, lift controls and door entry systems.
Runners to 3 metres, or cut to your size
Six stock sizes include 85 x 300 cm and 115 x 240 cm runners for corridors and long entrance halls. Need an odd shape or a recessed mat well? The mat can be cut to length or size on request.

Rule of thumb: every extra stride on the mat removes more dirt and water. Two strides, about 150 cm, suits a shop or school door. Four or more, a 240 or 300 cm runner, is right for a main entrance that takes the full British weather.

Cleaning and care
Five steps that keep it working like new
- Vacuum daily in busy entrances, weekly elsewhere, to lift dry grit before it is ground into the pile.
- Shake out or hose off heavier soiling and leave the mat to drain.
- When it needs a deep clean, machine wash at 40°C or below. Nothing hotter.
- Too big for your machine? Extraction clean it in place with a carpet cleaner instead.
- Dry flat and make sure the rubber backing is completely dry before laying it back down.
Frequently asked questions
Can I really put it in a washing machine?
Yes, at 40°C or below. The smaller sizes fit a large domestic drum. For the runners, use a commercial machine or extraction clean the mat in place.
Will it slide on carpet?
The nitrile rubber underside has an anti-slip gripper finish designed to hold on carpet and carpet tiles. It works equally well on tiles, vinyl and wood.
Is it tough enough for a school or shop entrance?
Yes. It is rated level 2 for wear and crush resistance and is specified for schools, universities, shopping centres, sports facilities and offices.
Is it fire rated?
Yes, flammability tested to Cfl-s1 under EN ISO 13501, the classification normally required for floor coverings in public buildings.
Has the slip resistance been tested?
Yes, to EN 13893 with a result of 0.57 DS, and it is antistatic to ISO 10965 and ISO 6356.
Can wheelchairs and pushchairs go over it?
Yes. At 9 mm with a double reinforced border the mat lies flat and low, and it is rated suitable for wheelchair users.
Will it fit under my door?
At 9 mm it clears most external doors. If your door-to-floor gap is tighter than that, our 7 mm Low-Profile Entrance Mat is the one to choose.
Can it be used outside?
No. It is an indoor, dry-zone mat for just inside the door. Pair it with a rubber scraper mat outside and let this mat do the absorbing.
Can I get a size that is not listed?
Yes. The mat can be cut to length or to a bespoke size. Call us with your measurements for a quote.
How does it compare with your Super Absorbent Waffle Entrance Mat?
The Waffle mat holds more water, up to 6 litres per m² behind a raised water-dam border, so it wins on the very wettest doorways. It cannot be machine washed though, and it stops at 120 x 180 cm. Choose this mat when you want to launder it, need a runner up to 3 metres, or are laying it on carpet where the gripper backing matters.
